You will get no wireless because I made a note for one or two short articles either of which might do for Close Up. Music I think personally would be the best as it would follow from the other. But you shall choose.

by your whole enterprise. We tell everyone we meet & will get a number of copies & broadcast them in suitable quarters. Will get our copies from various Smiths’ bookstalls & enquire for them at places not showing them. Will begin today an advance series of anxious enquiries.

You know Lawrence loathes films? Foams about them. I’m sure he’d foam for you. Villa Mirenda. Scandicci. Florence.

And Barbara Low is sound on Educ: & the Cinema. Had a first class article a while back in the Contemp: Review. Robert Nichols had years of trying to write scenarios in

America & much interesting experience.

• 'C.P.’ was Richardson’s first article for Close Up, ‘Continuous Performance’, which was published in the July 1927 number. ‘Music’ was published as ‘Continuous Performance II: Musical Accompaniment (August 1927) and ‘Captions’ as ‘Continuous Performance III: Captions’ (September 1927). ‘Animal Impudens’ is Latin for ‘shameless creature’ and was published as ‘Continuous Performance VIII (March 1928).
• ‘Lawrence’ is D. H. Lawrence.
• Barbara Low was a psychoanalyst and mutual friend of Richardson’s and Bryher’s.
• Robert Nichols was a poet who was introduced to the works of Richardson shortly after the First World War by Dr Henry Head. He loved Pointed Roofs so much he wrote to its author and the two became friends.
• ‘M.M’ is Marianne Moore, the poet and editor.
