Jokes and Fragments

Richardson’s letters are not just business letters. They are also affectionate, intelligent and gossipy portraits of the woman behind the work. She writes about Padstow life, and the funny things that happen in a small seaside town. She repeats jokes and tells stories about mutual friends. She shares recipes, draws pictures, and her husband, the artist Alan Odle, sometimes illustrates them.
